Annual Meeting

President Shirley Schall called the meeting to order.
The following were present: Thomas Birk, Roger Adkins, Andre
Boening, Phyllis Brunken, Sarah Cunningham, Melissa Diers, Wayne
Erickson, Wayne Fuller, Tom Glaze, Judi Haney, Bob Hayes, Randy
Hiatt, Pat Hoffman, Mary Honke, Tom Larson, Carl Mesecher, Daniel
Moser, Kevin Nolan, B. J. Peters, Chris Petroff, Norm Ronell, Mary
Roy, Shirley Schall, John Stritt, Art Tanderup, Max Thacker, and
Gloria Vavricka.
Motion to approve the minutes was made by Randy Hiatt and seconded
by Roger Adkins. Motion carried.
Treasurer's Report: NDLA has 63 members. USDLA was paid $315 ($5
per member) for national dues. Chadron State College was paid
$225
for printing for the conference. This will be reimbursed from the
conference proceeds. The checking account balance is $875.00. UNMC
bill for logo design was $576.28. A motion was made by Chris Petroff
and seconded by bob Hayes to pay 50% of the bills from NDLA and 50%
from conference proceeds ($288.14). Motion carried.
Board members election -- Randy Hiatt and Liz Hoffman were
nominated by P. J. Peters and seconded by Sarah Cunningham. Motion
carried.
Randy Hiatt and Liz Hoffman were elected by voice vote.
Phyllis Brunken was nominated for President-Elect by Pat Hoffman
and seconded by Max Thacker. Sarah Cunningham made the motion that
nominations be closed, seconded by Roger Adkins. Motion carried.
Phyllis Brunken was elected by voice vote.
Carl Mesecher was nominated for secretary by B. J. Peters and
seconded by Randy Hiatt. Carl was elected by voice vote.
Gloria Vavricka was nominated for treasurer by Max Thacker and
seconded by Bob Hayes. Gloria was elected by voice vote.
Committee reports: Membership rosters were distributed. The NDLA
website is www.ndla.org.
Calendar for 2001-2002 -- The group discussed the dates for the
second annual conference. It was determined to have it in early June
2002.
It was also discussed to have a joint conference with Iowa.
Outgoing President Shirley Schall was recognized for her
contributions and leadership during the first official year of NDLA.
A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Max Thacker and
seconded by Pat Hoffman. Motion carried. Meeting was adjourned a
12:20 pm.
